You think I'm pretty without any makeup on.

Valentine's Day. The most romantic day of the whole year. The day all couples look forward to, especially the girls. The one day of the year when you can be as mushy and gushy as you want, and no one cares. High schools usually hold a dance this time of year. But this year was different. It was heavily snowing outside. It was piled high, and the roads had been blocked off. The high school was supposed to be having a Valentine's Day dance, but due to the weather, it had been cancelled last minute.

You think I'm funny when I tell the punch line wrong.

Jaymee was sitting on Marquette's couch, still wearing her glittery orange and pink strapless gown. Her hair was curled, and it hung loosely from her head. She was crying, causing her mascara to run down her face in black tears. She had been looking forward to that night for months. It was supposed to be the night that Marquette and her had their first dance. But because of the stupid snowstorm, it was ruined.

I know you get me, so I let my walls come down.

Marquette came around the corner and sat down next to her. He was still wearing his nice suit-jacket, tie, and all. He realized Jaymee was really upset.

"You ok?" Marquette asked, scooting closer to her.

"Yeah, I'm fine," she told him. He wiped a tear off her cheek, leaving black mascara on his fingers.

"You're lying," he observed. He grabbed her hand and squeezed it. She let out another sob.

"I told you, I'm fine," Jaymee argued, "nothing's wrong." Marquette looked her right in the eyes.

"Tell the truth," he ordered. She figured there was no point in fighting with him.

Before you met me, I was alright, but things were kinda heavy.

"I was really looking forward to going to the dance tonight," she explained, "I was hoping that tonight we would…" her voice trailed off, "oh, forget it, it's stupid." She laid back against the back of the couch and stared up at the ceiling, trying to calm down.

"C'mon, what is it? I bet it's not that stupid," Marquette wondered.

"I was hoping that tonight…we would share our first slow dance," she confessed. He smiled, which assured her that he had been hoping for the same thing. She wiped her cheeks with her hands, rubbing all the tears off, but leaving trails of mascara.

You brought me to life, now every February, you'll be my Valentine.

"It really sucks that they had to cancel the date," Jaymee said, turning and looking out the window, "stupid snow! Tonight was supposed to be the best night of my life! Why did you have to ruin it?"

"It's way too dangerous for anyone to drive out there. Everyone is either trapped in their car, or trapped in their house, like us," Marquette told her.

Jaymee gasped, remembering that she was probably going to be stuck at Marquette's overnight.

"My parents are probably worried sick," she announced, "they're home with Clint and Tony. I should probably call Clint and tell him I'm staying here. Eh, I'll just text him and tell him I'm staying here for the night." She took her phone out of her purse and opened up a new text message addressed to her big bro.

"My parents are upstairs. So is Hayden. I should probably go tell them that you'll be staying here," Marquette offered. He went upstairs, leaving Jaymee by herself. Moments after she sent Clint the message, he called her. She opened the phone and pressed it to her ear.

Let's go all the way tonight, no regrets, just love.

"Hey," she spoke, sounding normal now that the crying had gone down, "what goes on?"

"How come you're staying the night over there?" Clint questioned.

"Because it's too dangerous for me to come home. It's not safe to drive out there," Jaymee informed, "I don't want anyone getting hurt tonight, and I don't think you do either." She heard her brother huff on the other end, "I don't see what the big deal is. Are Mom and Dad cool with it?"

"Yeah, but I'm not," he snapped.

"What's your problem?" Jaymee asked. Clint huffed again before explaining.

"Well, you're spending the night at your boyfriend's house. That doesn't exactly comfort me. What if he tries to…like…make a move on you…and you know exactly what kind of move I'm talking about," he let out. She laughed.

"Clint, you're forgetting two things. One, Marquette promised me that he would never do anything I didn't want him to. And second, we've known each other since we were born. I'll probably end up seeping on the couch or something," she reassured.

"Just make sure you're sleeping by yourself," Clint checked. Jaymee's jaw dropped.

"You are the most overprotective older brother I have ever met in my life," she mentioned, hanging up on him.

We can dance, until we die, you and I, we'll be young forever.

Marquette came back downstairs, carrying something behind his back. He snuck over and set the thing down next to the couch, making sure Jaymee didn't see it, before sitting down next to her.

"So…now what?" she wondered, standing up and flattening out her dress, "we're stuck here with nowhere to go, still wearing our nice clothes, and I'm not used to it. I'm not comfortable in this!"

"I think you look gorgeous," Marquette blushed, beautiful, actually." She blushed too and sat back down,

"And you look very handsome," Jaymee complimented, ruffling his hair, which she knew totally bugged him.

"Could you not do that? It's really irritating," he pleaded, shooing her hand away.

"Aww, come on, it makes you look adorable!" she awwed. He shooed her hand away, and she leaned over and rested on him, her head on his shoulder. Marquette looked over at the stereo, and that gave him an idea.

You make me feel like I'm living a teenage dream.

Marquette went over to the stereo and turned it on, switching to different stations, hoping something good was on. When one station said that the next song to play was "Today Was A Fairytale" by Taylor Swift, he left it there. He walked back over to Jaymee and held out his hand.

"May I have this dance?" he asked. She looked up at him, confused.

"For real?" she wondered. Even though it was her own boyfriend, she wasn't used to guys asking her to dance.

"You said you wanted to have our first slow dance, right? Well, you're gonna get it," Marquette explained, taking her hand and pulling her up.

"You're crazy," she told him. The end of "Take It Off" by Ke$ha was playing.

"So…will you dance with me?" Marquette asked her again.

"I don't know how to dance," she reminded him, "I can't dance to save my life. You know that."

"This isn't that hard," he explained, "it's just like back in 7th grade. You just, kind of, sway back and forth to the music, y'know?" Jaymee blushed and she wiped mascara off her face.

"No, I don't know, because, like I already told you, I can't dance to save my life," she reminded him yet again.

"Well, we're supposed to be really close, like this," Marquette informed. He placed one hand on her waist and pulled her close to him. Jaymee lightened up as the music began to play.

"I've been waiting for this moment for 4 months," Jaymee beamed, placing a hand on his shoulder.

"I've been waiting on this moment for 4 years," Marquette told her, "I win." She giggled softly, and Marquette couldn't help but smile. She had the most adorable laugh. He took her free hand in his as they began swaying back and forth gently.

"Hey Marquette?" Jaymee wondered, "I know this may be a weird time, but can I ask you a question?"

"Ask away babe," he said. She swallowed hard before continuing.

"Well, you said you've liked me since 7th grade, right?" she questioned, and he nodded, "when exactly did you…realize I was your dream girl?" Marquette didn't need to think twice before answering that.

The way you turn me on, I can't sleep.

"Do you remember the dance in 7th grade?" Marquette wondered, and Jaymee nodded, "Mercy, Aimee, Stella, Zodiac, and Tori spent forever trying to get you out of the bathroom. They said that you kept commenting on how horrible you looked. It was your first time wearing a nice dress in front of the other kids at school, and it was your first dance, so I guess you were nervous. When they finally did drag you out and into the gym, you just kind of stood in the corner. I thought that you looked kinda pretty, but it wasn't until later that I really fell for you." He paused and pulled her a bit closer before continuing.

"When a slow song came on, the girls tried to get you to come ask me to dance, which you refused to do. Finally, they just shoved you into me, and then they shoved us on the dance floor. Neither of us really wanted to or knew how to dance, so we basically just hugged and swayed back and forth through the whole song. When I saw you in the soft lighting, I realized how stunning you really looked. So I held you tighter and thought "God, please let this moment last." Then everyday after that, I just fell in love with you a little bit more. When high school came around, that's when I started thinking "She's the most beautiful girl I've ever seen in my life. I hope I end up with her one day." And my wish came true." A few tears rolled down Jaymee's cheeks-happy tears.

Let's runaway and don't ever look back, don't ever look back.

"Aww, c'mon, please don't cry," Marquette pleaded, wiping a tear off her face with his thumb.

"Being emotional is such a curse," she huffed, "and these are happy tears. That was really sweet. Is that really how you fell in love with me?"

"I wouldn't lie about something like that," he assured, squeezing her hand.

"I remember that dance," Jaymee reminisced, "that was the year that all those dating rumors started. People kept assuming that we were totally in love with each other-"

"And now we are," Marquette interrupted. Jaymee beamed and giggled softly. She was so beautiful that it made Marquette's heart ache, but in a good way.

My heart stops when you look at me.

"Do you remember when we first started dating and Fletcher asked you how it felt to be dating the ugliest girl in school? Do you think he meant that?" she asked him.

"He better have been messing around," Marquette remarked, "and he and Flannary did apologize for all that. Plus, they're your friends now. I bet they probably regret all that." Jaymee rested her head on his shoulder and quietly hummed along to the song.

"How come you're humming so quietly?" he wondered.

"Cause I'm trying to stop myself from singing along," Jaymee explained, her cheeks turning a light pink, "I don't want to ruin the moment."

"You wouldn't be ruining it," Marquette reassured, "you just might make it better. You sing great."

The last chorus of the song was playing, and Jaymee sang along, quietly of course, because she thought she sounded horrible.

"Can you feel this magic in the air? It must've been the way you kissed me. I fell in love when I saw you standing there. It must've been the way…today was a fairytale," she sang.

Marquette smiled and hugged Jaymee tight. It was moments like these the meant the most to him. She meant the most to him. There wasn't any other girl in the world that could make his heart race as fast as she could, even if it was simply by smiling. Life made sense when she was around, and nothing compared to having her in his arms. When it came to what people thought about him, only her opinion mattered. She was the only one he wanted to impress. Being in love was the best feeling in the world, and being in love with Jaymee made it even better.

Just one touch, now baby I believe,

Even though the song ended, they continued to dance for another minute or so. They were so caught up in the moment-they didn't want it to end.

Jaymee fought back tears-hard. She'd never been so overjoyed in her life. Even though the Valentine's Dance had been cancelled, her first slow dance was more magical than it ever could've been. It was just like the song said-today was a fairytale.

The lights flickered and went out. Jaymee jumped on the inside and swallowed hard. She wasn't too fond of the dark.

"What just happened?" she freaked, wrapping her arms around herself and snuggling as close to Marquette as she could. He wrapped both arms around her waist and hugged her.

"It's ok babe, the power just went out. Nothing more than that," he reassured. He was fully aware that the dark was not Jaymee's best friend.

They heard footsteps on the stairs. It was Hayden. He was coming down to give them flashlights and blankets.

"Here you go kiddo," he told him, handing each of them a flashlight and Marquette a huge blanket, "Dad's listening to the radio. The whole neighborhood is out of power. Some line got knocked down." He scurried back upstairs. Jaymee sat down on the couch, shivering because the heater had gone off. She draped her jacket over herself, which helped a little.

"I really enjoyed dancing with you," Marquette let her know, turning on his flashlight and sitting down next to her.

"That was pretty magical. And I did feel like a princess. Even though I don't believe in fairytales," Jaymee commented, "I found this picture one time with this quote that said "Whether or not you believe in fairytales, every girl is a princess to somebody." Stella showed it to me."

"Well, you're a princess to me," he smiled. He leaned over the side and picked up a red rose, handing it to Jaymee, "for you my dear." She took the rose in her hands, smiling and holding it to her nose, smelling it.

"It's gorgeous," she beamed.

"Just like you," Marquette complimented. Jaymee smiled and set the flower down next to her. She covered her mouth with her hand and yawned.

"God, I'm tired," Jaymee exclaimed, sleep lingering in her voice. She stretched her arms over her head.

"Remember, the couch pulls out," he reminded, helping her up, "you're gonna sleep out here." He took the cushions off the couch and pulled it out. It wasn't extremely comfortable, but it would have to do.

"Thanks," she thanked, sitting down on the edge of it. She took the huge blanket Hayden had brought out and spread it out.

"What do you think our friends are doing right now?" he wondered, sitting next to her.

"Probably just as bummed as we are. But at least we got our dance, right?" Jaymee recollected.

It had been pretty magical. Jaymee never believed that feeling the way she had felt when dancing with him was possible. She never thought she was going to find love-boy, was she proved wrong.

This is real, so take a chance and don't ever look back.

Jaymee pulled out her phone and sent out a mass text message to Aimee, Mercy, Stella, Tori, Julie, Jet, and Indigo. It said "Marquette and I just shared our first dance ;)." She couldn't wait for her friends to find out.

A minute later, her phone was buzzing like crazy.

"Whoa, is your phone malfunctioning?" Marquette asked.

"I just told some friends that we shared our first dance. They're probably happy for me," Jaymee told him. She leaned over and unstrapped her heels.

Imma get your heart racing in my skin-tight jeans,

"Well, tonight was a dream come true," Marquette cut in, "I got to dance with the most beautiful girl on the face of the Earth. Now for this." He leaned over and kissed her gently, sweetly. She waited until afterwards to smile like crazy.

She lifted up the blanket and crawled underneath. She rested her head on the mattress and yawned again.

"Someone looks tired," he realized, "want me to take your glasses?"

"Please," she said, taking them off and handing them to him. Jaymee closed her eyes. Marquette leaned over and gave her one last kiss.

"Goodnight Jaymee. I love you," he told her before beginning to go upstairs.

"I love you too," she whispered.

Marquette stopped halfway up the stairs and looked back at his sleeping angel. His heart swelled up like a balloon as he kissed his hand and waved to her.

"Night princess," he spoke softly before going up to his room. As he took off his jacket, he couldn't help but feel like the luckiest guy in the world.

Let you put your hands on me in my skin-tight jeans,

Be your teenage dream tonight…
This has to be one of the sappiest things I've ever written in my life:iconawwloveplz:

It's about my OC's Jaymee and Marquette:iconlovelaplz:

I wrote this after hearing the song "Teenage Dream" by Katy Perry and thought that it would be really cool if I wrote the story and stuck the lyrics in there too:iconlainloveplz:

Hope you all like it:iconawwloveplz:
