My One Love Part Two

I put the headphone in my ear and shoved my Ipod in the pocket of my hoodie. I followed my class out of Mr. Steven's room and headed for the stairs. I couldn't wait to get to lunch and see all of my friends.

My name is Bailey Gray. My friends call me Bailey Bailey Slade. It's all because I've liked this guy, Colton Slade, since the start of freshman year last year. I fell in love with him, and my friends are constantly making stupid jokes. One of my friends, Serena, even made these stupid comics about how our life would be. According to her, we were going to have a kid named Baiton. Really stupid name, isn't it? I guess combining our names together was the best thing she could come up with. That's Serena for ya.

I scrolled through my songs to Superfreak by Rick James and shoved my Ipod back in my pocket. I hopped off the last step of the stairs and walked quickly down to the main hallway, where I found Lynn. I tried to get her to come with me, but she said she was waiting for someone. I figured she was waiting for Demitri, one of our other friends, but then I saw him a little ways in front of me. I wondered who she could be looking for when I saw Serena. I handed her a note that she had given me earlier and began to walk away. But before I could, she grabbed my wrist and dragged me in the direction that I came from. Her grip was excruciatingly tight. There was no way I could escape.

"Uh...where are you taking me?" I asked. She looked up ahead for a second, then looked back at me, a big smile on her face.

"You'll see," Serena informed. That only meant one thing-it was either really good or really bad. Either way, it seemed very important.

We weaved our way through groups of people to the window looking into the guidance office. There, waiting for us, were Lynn and Colton, who had a delighted smile on his face. I stopped, then tried to run, but Serena had an iron grip on my wrist. Lynn had sat down on my foot and wrapped her arms and legs around my leg, so even if I broke free from Serena, I still couldn't get away. I was stuck. Ya see, I would've tried to run away sooner, but I had gotten lost in Colton's eyes. Don't tell anyone I said that.

"Well, this sucks," I broke the intense silence, "is this some kind of elaborate scheme just to make me say hi? Cause you guys really put too much effort into this. I mean seriously," I turned to Colton, "heya. There, I did it. Happy now?" I tried to get away, but Serena didn't release her grip, and Lynn remained on my foot.

"Umm, I said hi, you can let go now," I informed. Still nothing. Lynn tugged on my pant leg.

"Colton wants to go out with you," Lynn said. I looked up at Colton. The white was slowly draining from his face. Serena was looking at me like she was waiting for me to say something. It was silent for a few seconds, then I burst out laughing.

"Ok, did you all gang up with Jasper and Ivy? Are you trying to humiliate me? I can't believe you guys would do something like that," I spoke. Tears started to pool up in my eyes. I couldn't believe that my best friends would gang up with my worst enemies like that. Lynn got up off my foot and stood up. Serena let go of my wrist.

"She's not lying," Colton reassured, "do you remember last Valentine's Day getting a note in your locker?" I thought back. I did remember getting a note. It had said:

Dear Bailey,
I have been admiring you from afar. You are the most beautiful girl I've ever seen. I hope, one day, we can be together. Happy Valentine's Day.

Your Secret Admirer

"Yeah," I answered, "I remember. Why?" Colton froze for a second, like he didn't expect me to remember. He swallowed.

"That was me" he finally spoke up. At first, I thought he was kidding, but the look on his face told me otherwise. His face was lit up with his gorgeous smile, and his eyes stared into mine.

"Aww," Serena and Lynn cooed in unison. That totally killed the moment.

So...," Serena brought up, "will you go out with him?" Colton and I didn't take our eyes off each other.

"Absolutely," I finally said. I couldn't believe what was happening.

"Aww," Lynn and Serena cooed again. I felt Colton's hand grab mine. I instantly felt my face turn red, my temperature rise, my heart start beating at 100 miles an hour, and the butterflies in my stomach get a rude wake up call. Colton could see I was nervous and let go.

"Sorry," he apoligized, "I thought you wanted me to."

"No, it's okay," I told him. He grabbed my hand again.

"Aww," Lynn and Serena cooed for the third time. Serena looked up at the clock.

"Well, I gotta go or I'm gonna be late for class," Serena told us. I gave her a one-armed hug and she headed off to class. Colton, Lynn, and I headed off to lunch.
